Pre-Departure Sessions

Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation Sessions are conducted by Education Abroad every semester.

Exchange and Affiliate Orientation

Students on Exchange and Affiliate summer, May term, semester, or year-long programs are required to attend pre-departure orientations and must attend regardless of orientations/workshops offered by other departments or colleges.  Upon receiving your UT acceptance, students are added to the Education Abroad Exchange/Affiliate Canvas page, where dates and times can be found for required and optional pre-departure orientation sessions.  

Faculty-Led Orientation

Students in faculty-led programs should consult their program canvas page for information about required pre-departure sessions. Faculty and staff will schedule dates and times of all sessions in the Spring before departure.

McCombs Students

Students participating on a BBA Exchange program must attend the Pre Departure Workshop led by McCombs (which are separate from the above Orientation sessions). Details about your required session will be included in your acceptance information from the BBA International Programs Office. For additional details, reference your Preparing To Go Checklist.

MBA students should consult with Debbie Carney for details.

Engineering Students

All International Engineering Program students must attend a pre-departure orientation with Helena Wilkins. Please contact her for details.
