International Education Week

The University of Texas at Austin recognizes International Education Week (IEW) annually to celebrate global engagement on the Forty Acres and around the world. This nationwide initiative features events that showcase opportunities abroad, cultural performances, international research, and community-building activities. This year’s IEW is November 16-20, 2026, and is open to all members of the campus community.

Plan an Event

Colleges, schools, units, and student organizations are key to the success of IEW. Whether your gathering is a campus tradition, part of an existing series, or new to IEW, we are excited to have you join the festivities!

You can celebrate IEW by planning in-person, virtual, or hybrid events and promoting your organization’s global champions, programs, and research. In addition to your own promotion efforts, Texas Global will amplify IEW events via campus communications and social media.

IEW Event Categories

Academics and Research: Broadening perspectives through presentations, panels, and lectures on internationally focused topics.
Global Gatherings: Connecting with peers through cultural and language exchange, networking, and professional development.
Go Abroad: Exploring opportunities to study, intern, or research abroad.
Arts and Culture: Experiencing visual and performing arts from around the world.
