Past Programs

Our past programs have included higher education administrators exploring best practices in university management and operations, undergraduate accounting students refining industry-specific language skills and learning U.S. financial practices, research students preparing for advanced degrees, junior faculty advancing teaching methods and young entrepreneurs strengthening business strategy and building industry networks.

Fulbright Seminars and Pre-Departure Orientations

From 2011-2017, UT Austin welcomed professionals, students, and scholars representing African, Caribbean, East Asian, European, Latina American, Middle Eastern, and South Asian nations for topical seminars on higher education administration and social entrepreneurship and preparation for their Fulbright experiences in the U.S. and re-entry to their home countries.

Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Alumni Enrichment Institute

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Alumni Enrichment Institute provided participants from the 2021 virtual Fellowship the opportunity have an in-person experience in 2022, which included site visits, leadership workshops, community service, cultural activities, networking, and mentoring. The program was administered by IREX and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Gifted Student Program: STEM Research Program

This program, hosted in summers 2016-2022, was a five-week customized research experience for undergraduate students that consisted of lab shadowing, research enhancement workshops, site visits, and a final poster session. The program was administered by IIE and sponsored by KAUST.
