McCombs Center for Global Business Receives $125K Endowment Gift

The Center for Global Business (CGB) at the McCombs School of Business has received a $125,000 endowment gift from donors Lauren and Mark Booth, enabling the expansion of the future of global business at The University of Texas at Austin.

The Center for Global Business, which powers the McCombs School’s international business major and minor and enables study abroad experiences, will use the contribution to strengthen the International Business Program by expanding access to high-impact experiences.

The resulting global coursework, international internships and study abroad opportunities will help prepare students to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.

“The mission of internationalizing students is critical in today’s world, where the best and the brightest will have amazing opportunities,” the Booth family said of the McCombs School and its global programming. “The quality of the professors is outstanding, as is the genuine deep concern the University has for its students. We are very happy to support the CGB.”

Endowment gifts to the CGB bolster the center’s commitment to ongoing support for innovative curriculum, student opportunities and global engagement initiatives. To date, the CGB has invested in international travel opportunities for more than 60 scholars in 23 countries.

“We are incredibly grateful to Lauren and Mark Booth for their forward-looking generosity,” said Deirdre Mendez, director of the CGB. “Endowment support like this allows us to think long-term by expanding international opportunities.”

The gift equips the CGB to provide a lasting investment in students, in worldwide understanding and in the future of business leadership.
