Macatee UT Austin–United Kingdom Collaboration Grant
Macatee UT Austin–United Kingdom Collaboration Grants support academic exchange and collaboration between UT Austin and leading universities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. This program offers UT Austin faculty the opportunity to spend time in the United Kingdom teaching, conducting collaborative research, or developing institutional partnerships. In turn, faculty from British institutions are invited to engage with the UT Austin academic community, fostering meaningful cross-cultural dialogue and scholarly collaboration.

Application Information
The Macatee UT Austin–United Kingdom Collaboration Grants program supports the development and advancement of both new and existing collaborations between UT Austin faculty and academic, governmental, nonprofit, and industry partners across the United Kingdom.
Applicants may request up to $10,000 to support travel and collaborative activities such as visiting lectureships, conferences and symposia, site visits, joint research initiatives, and other engagements that foster meaningful partnerships with UK-based institutions. Funds may also be used to support travel for prospective UK collaborators to visit UT Austin for activities including guest lectures, campus visits, research planning, and other forms of scholarly exchange.
Preference will be given to proposals related to study of the economic and political systems, finance and public policy, as well as proposals that demonstrate strong potential to establish or expand long-term collaborative relationships and sustainable institutional partnerships between UT Austin and organizations in the United Kingdom.
Eligibility
The Macatee UT Austin United Kingdom Collaboration Grant is open to faculty and researchers who have held their current position at UT Austin for a minimum of three years, including:
- UT Austin tenured and tenure-track faculty members
- Permanent researchers with principal investigator (PI) status
- Professors of the practice/clinical faculty
Emeritus faculty are ineligible to apply for this grant. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received funding from Texas Global within the past two years.
Grant Period
Grant funds must be used within 12 months from the date the award notification is sent. Expenses incurred outside of this timeframe are not eligible for reimbursement. Any unspent funds at the conclusion of the grant period must be returned to Texas Global.
