Macatee UT Austin–United Kingdom Faculty Travel Planning Grant
Macatee Faculty Travel Planning Grants support academic exchange and collaboration between UT Austin and leading universities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. This program offers UT Austin faculty the opportunity to spend time in the United Kingdom teaching, conducting research, or developing institutional partnerships. In turn, faculty from British institutions are invited to engage with the UT Austin academic community, fostering meaningful cross-cultural dialogue and scholarly collaboration.

Application Information
The Macatee UT Austin–Great Britain Faculty Travel Planning Grant is designed to support UT Austin faculty in initiating academic and institutional partnerships in Great Britain to meet eligibility requirements for the submission of subsequent Texas Global funding opportunities to the Global Career Launch, Global Virtual Exchange, President’s Award for Global Learning, Texas Global Faculty Research Seed Grant, and Faculty-led Education Abroad. Preference will be given to proposals in the fields of economics, politics and government, finance, and public policy.
Applicants may request up to $2,500 in travel funding to support the development of proposals for Texas Global programs either based in Great Britain or in collaboration with British institutions or organizations. Funding may also be used to support travel for a prospective British collaborator to visit UT Austin for the purpose of touring campus facilities or participating in in-person meetings aimed at advancing a Texas Global program proposal.
Grant Period
September 1, 2025 – April 1, 2026
Grant funds must be used within the specified grant period. Expenses incurred outside of this timeframe are not eligible for reimbursement.
Any unexpended funds will be returned to Texas Global. Any unspent funds at the conclusion of the grant period must be returned to Texas Global.
