Global Virtual Exchange
To foster meaningful, sustainable and accessible international experiences for all UT Austin students, the Texas Global Virtual Exchange initiative supports faculty in co-creating Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses with peers at universities around the world. Students gain global perspectives, deepening their understanding of the subject matter while engaging in project-based learning.

Application Information
UT Austin faculty may apply for a Global Virtual Exchange course development grant. Awarded funds support UT Austin faculty to develop and implement the exchange. Faculty partners co-develop and co-teach undergraduate/graduate courses or course modules and deliver content synchronously and asynchronously. In addition to funds, Global Virtual Exchange faculty receive instructional support through workshops, faculty learning communities and networking events.
Texas Global awards Global Virtual Exchange grants on a semiannual basis, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester.

Texas Global has awarded 66 grants to develop and implement virtual exchanges across 6 continents and 37 countries, serving thousands of students around the world. Many of our Global Virtual Exchange faculty forge long-lasting partnerships that result in multiple virtual exchange courses and research collaborations.
