UT Austin Ranked 31 in the World in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2019

The University of Texas at Austin is the top-ranked university in Texas in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2019, released on July 17. UT Austin climbed five spots in the 2019 rankings, landing at No. 31 among all public and private universities in the world.

“The newly announced 2019 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings acknowledge UT Austin’s exemplary record of academic excellence and we are proud to be recognized as one the top leading universities in the world,” said Dr. Sonia Feigenbaum, senior vice provost and chief international officer. “We look forward to forging ahead and fulfilling our research, teaching, and public service mission as a global university in vibrant Texas.”

The Times Higher Education rankings are based on the world’s largest invitation-only opinion survey of senior, published academics. It asks scholars to name the universities they believe are the best for research and teaching in their field, based on their own experience.

The 2019 results are based on a survey carried out between November 2018 and February 2019, which received a total of 11,554 responses from 135 countries.

Nineteen countries are represented in the rankings, and universities in the United States continue to dominate with forty-two universities represented among the top 100 universities in the world.

In addition to the latest Times Higher Education World Reputation Ranking, UT Austin holds a number of impressive national and international rankingsBusiness First ranked UT Austin as the No. 7 U.S. Public Colleges and Kiplinger named in No. 8 in Best-Value Public Colleges. U.S. News & World Report ranked UT Austin No. 15 among Top Public Schools, National Universities, and counted 49 UT Austin graduate programs in the Top 10 in the nation.
