Texas Global is the organization that leads and coordinates international engagement efforts at The University of Texas at Austin. The department is home to Education Abroad, the English Language Center, International Student and Scholar Services and Passport Services, as well as Global Alumni Relations, Global Initiatives and Partnerships, Global Programs and Innovation, and Global Risk and Safety.

Together, the many units of Texas Global support the campus community of international students and scholars, foster multinational partnerships on campus and abroad, and create opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni to engage with peers and institutions around the world.

Relocation to UT Austin’s Main Building

Main Building and UT Tower on the UT Austin campus

Beginning March 27, 2023, and for the duration of renovations being made to its current location at 2400 Nueces St., Texas Global will operate temporarily in UT Austin’s Main Building, with several offices on the ground floor of the UT Tower.

“The renovations we are making will be yet another significant mark in the history of Texas Global, one that will productively impact our trajectory,” said Sonia Feigenbaum, senior vice provost for global engagement and chief international officer. “The university's goal to create a space where our international and domestic students and scholars can congregate, combined with our presence in a collaborative work environment, will position us to continue to build community and serve our many stakeholders.”

The new construction at 2400 Nueces will better accommodate an increased volume of services provided by the organization, including passport application processing and student advising appointments. The new space also will provide larger, collaborative spaces for students, scholars and the community to engage.

Temporary Adjustments to Service

The move to Texas Global’s temporary space in the Main Building will happen Monday-Friday, March 20-24.

During the transition week of March 20-24, Education Abroad, the English Language Center and International Student and Scholar Services will offer advising appointments and administrative services remotely.

Passport Services will be closed to the public while preparing for the relocation and will not process applications during the week of March 20-24.

Return to Full Service

All Texas Global operations and services will resume in the Main Building as of Monday, March 27.

Education Abroad, the English Language Center and International Student and Scholar Services will provide front desk operations and in-person advising services beginning March 27 in the Main Building, Room 7, on the ground floor of the UT Tower.

After its relocation to the Main Building, Room 22, Passport Services will no longer accept walk-ins. The public, as well as students, faculty members and staff members, can use the online scheduling system for appointments that will begin on March 27.
