Building International Bridges at The Texas Edge London
- Aug 5, 2019
On Wednesday, July 24, London-based Longhorns turned out for an up-close account of cutting-edge initiatives from the university’s leadership at The Texas Edge. The event, hosted by the United Kingdom Texas Exes (UKTE) alumni group, was held at London’s beautiful Institute for Directors, where vibrant surroundings added impact to stories of innovation and creativity.
Talented McCombs students were front and center in a panel discussion led by Dean Jay Hartzell in which two Canfield Business Honors students studying in London gave insight into the impact of their global experiences. Attendees also had the pleasure of hearing from brand-new accounting faculty member Jeffrey Hales, who described advances in corporate accountability and oversight, and University of Texas at Austin President Greg Fenves, who introduced the new Texas Advance Commitment program, which will expand financial aid to make UT more affordable for Texans.
