World-Renowned Architect To Deliver Lecture at UT Austin
- Oct 3, 2019
Award-winning and internationally-renowned British architect Sir David Adjaye, known for designing innovative cultural centers around the world, will give a public lecture at The University of Texas on Oct. 8. Hosted by the School of Architecture, his lecture is part of the Jean and Bill Booziotis Lecture series.
Adjaye will also meet with students and faculty in the School of Architecture to discuss contemporary issues in design. His visit preludes the opening of his first Texas design project—Ruby City art center in San Antonio.
"The Oct. 8 event is free and open to the public. Recognized as a leading architect of his generation, Adjaye is principal and founder of Adjaye Associates with offices in London, New York and Accra. The firm has completed work in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa — having undertaken residential, commercial, planning, and research projects — but is best-known for its civic and cultural buildings such as the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.; the Moscow School of Management; and Ruby City, an art center in San Antonio, which opens this October."
