UT Faculty and Experts to Discuss Renewable Energy and Sustainability during Third Texas Global Dialogues

Three renewable energy experts and thought leaders at UT Austin will examine challenges and solutions to the world’s dwindling energy supply, as well as the latest research and innovations from the Forty Acres, at the upcoming Texas Global Dialogues: Clean and Green? Challenges and Solutions for a Sustainable Future.

The virtual event is open to UT alumni living across the world and will take place 11 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. CST on Nov. 16, 2020, during the university-wide celebration of International Education Week.

The distinguished panel includes Jamie Beard, J.D., executive director of the Geothermal Entrepreneurship Organization; Varun Rai, Ph.D. director of the Energy Institute, associate dean for research and professor of public affairs and mechanical engineering; and Michael Webber, Ph.D., chief science and technology officer at ENGIE, Josey centennial professor in energy resources and professor of mechanical engineering. Dr. Sonia Feigenbaum, senior vice provost for global engagement, moderate the discussion.

The third Texas Global Dialogues, a series coordinated by Texas Global and the Texas Exes to connect UT alumni around the world with the UT academic community, is presented in collaboration with the Cockrell School of Engineering and the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
