UT Coronavirus Researchers Receive Two Golden Goose Awards

UT associate professor Jason McLellan and graduate student fellow Daniel Wrapp, who conduct research on the coronavirus, were among the winners of the 2020 Golden Goose Awards announced Dec. 1. Golden Goose Awards recognize federally funded scientific research that leads to breakthroughs and significant societal impact.
McLellan and Wrapp were acknowledged for their work with scientists in Belgium to engineer antibodies used in leading vaccines for use in fighting the current coronavirus, as well as their early identification of a stabilized spike protein now used as an antigen in many leading vaccines to thwart COVID-19.
