UT Benson Latin American Collection Acquires Archive of Nobel Laureate Miguel Ángel Asturias

The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection has acquired the work of Miguel Ángel Asturias, a prolific Guatemalan writer and 1967 Nobel laureate in literature whose portrayal of Guatemala and the different peoples that live there mark the profundity of his texts.

The Benson is the third repository to house materials pertaining to Asturias’s life work. The collection features letters between Asturias and his son, poetic prose, drawings and other artifacts.
