UT Austin Rises to Rank No. 58 Globally, No. 4 Among U.S. Public Universities

The University of Texas at Austin ranks No. 58 in the world and No. 4 among public universities in the United States, according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings.
Among both public and private universities, UT Austin ranks No. 19 in the U.S. and No. 1 in Texas.
The QS World University Rankings were based on nine factors including academic reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty member, sustainability, employability and international research collaboration. The results draw on the analysis of more than 17 million academic papers and the expert opinions of 240,000 academic faculty members and employers.
Other Texas universities featured in the rankings include Texas A&M at No. 32, Rice University at No. 34 and The University of Texas at Dallas at No. 86.
UT Austin’s excellence has been recognized by other recent rankings this year, including in U.S. News & World Report. UT Austin ranked No. 43 in the world in its Best Global Universities ranking, with U.S. News ranking more than 50 of the university’s graduate programs and specialties among the top 10 in the nation. Four of UT Austin’s graduate programs also ranked No. 1 in the country, according to U.S. News.
