Scarlett is a proud Austin native and member of the Texas Global team at the University of Texas at Austin. With a multicultural upbringing—her father from the Netherlands and her mother a German-Texan—Scarlett's passion for exploring the world ignited early. Her travels across Western Europe visiting family members fostered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures.

As a Texas Global alum, Scarlett's journey to Singapore enriched her worldview, inspiring her commitment to guiding others through their international experiences. With firsthand knowledge of studying abroad and a profound connection to the university, she is dedicated to supporting students in their global pursuits.

She is the proud pet parent to a cat named Velvet. However, she loves all kinds of animals and is the designated pet sitter amongst her friend group. If you ever seek cute pictures of animals, she always has a few on hand.

Scarlett enjoys learning about semi-unknown historical communities, events, and people. Scarlett's passion for uncovering hidden historical gems recently led her to delve into the fascinating story of the Wheatville Community, which once thrived on the very land now occupied by West Campus. Before the towering apartment complexes, this vibrant community left an indelible mark on the history of Austin. For those intrigued by the rich tapestry of historical Austin and eager to explore its roots before modern development took hold, delving into the history of Wheatville is highly recommended by Scarlett.
