Shawn Meredith

Shawn Meredith is the CELTA program coordinator for the English Language Center. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a varsity athlete on their world-renowned wheelchair track team. Shawn earned numerous national championships, national records, and four world records while at Illinois, and represented Team USA twice at the Paralympic Games in 1992 and 1996, winning a total of five gold and one silver medals. While competing internationally, he travelled to Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Mexico, Spain, and Venezuela. Shawn also played wheelchair rugby. He is currently an Assistant Coach for the Texas Stampede, 2016 United States Wheelchair Rugby Association Division I National Champions.
