Originally from Indiana, Megan has been a loyal Longhorn staff member since 2006, working exclusively in development and alumni relations. Her most recent role was as Director of Volunteer Leadership within Texas Development where she managed engagement strategy, membership and events for multiple diverse alumni and donor boards including the President’s International Board of Advisors and University Development Board. Prior to her roles in Texas Development, Megan served as the Director for Alumni Relations for the University Unions in the Division of Student Affairs where she established the department’s first alumni-student mentorship program. She began her career as a development associate in the Cockrell School of Engineering, working to advance alumni relations in the dean’s office and through the Engineering Advisory Board.
Megan received her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Ball State University and a Master of Arts degree in film studies from Ohio University. Upon moving to Austin and trying to discover where she fit in the film scene, she started a position with UT Austin and immediately realized her career path would be alumni relations after working her first alumni event for the Cockrell School of Engineering. She is passionate about reconnecting alumni with the university and current students, creating a positive relationship for all.
Her favorite activities include reading, SUP boarding and kayaking with her husband, being her children’s most vocal and supportive cheerleader at their volleyball and soccer games, game nights with friends, and cuddling with her cat on a rainy day.
