Director, Global Initiatives and Alumni Relations
Fiona Mazurenko is the inaugural director of global alumni relations at The University of Texas at Austin. She is responsible for developing a comprehensive strategy to expand and deepen UT Austin’s engagement with global alumni; collaborating with colleges, schools, and units across campus to implement an effective outreach plan; increasing opportunities for faculty and students to engage with alumni around the world; and cultivating global partnerships to advance the academic mission of the university.
Previously, Fiona served as assistant director of communications on the Texas Global marketing and communications team, implementing a data-driven strategy to showcase the university’s global story and advance its global engagement objectives. Before joining UT Austin in 2014, she led development and communications at several community development and affordable housing non-profit organizations.
A UT global alumna herself, Fiona earned a master’s degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and French from the University of Richmond. Fiona has extensive international experience, including travel to 30 countries across five continents and a combined 12 years of living in Indonesia, Ukraine, and France. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from 2004 to 2006.
