Fiona Mazurenko is Director of Global Initiatives and Alumni Relations at The University of Texas at Austin. She develops and leads strategic initiatives that advance the university's global engagement priorities through international partnerships, alumni engagement, philanthropy, faculty collaboration, and institutional outreach.
Since joining UT Austin in 2014, Fiona has helped shape the university's global engagement and strategy through the development of programs, partnerships, and initiatives that connect alumni, faculty, students, donors, and institutional partners worldwide. She established the university's global alumni engagement framework, launched programs such as the Global Mentorship Program, oversees faculty grants and international partnership initiatives, and led the creation of the Texas Global Alumni Summit, the university's flagship international alumni event. Working across colleges, schools, and administrative units, she develops strategies and relationships that advance the university's academic, research, and international priorities.
Prior to joining UT Austin, Fiona worked in international education, community development, and affordable housing. She led fundraising campaigns that raised more than $4 million and directed branding, communications, and digital engagement while managing community initiatives for nonprofit organizations in Austin.
Fiona holds a master's degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and bachelor's degrees in International Relations and French from the University of Richmond. She has lived and studied in Indonesia, Ukraine and France, and traveled to more than 30 countries. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine 2004-2006.
