Margaret Y. Luévano

Margaret serves as Director of International Student and Scholar Services at The University of Texas at Austin, where she provides leadership and oversight for services supporting the University's international student and scholar community. With over two decades of experience in international education, she has been with UT Austin since 2010, advancing through multiple roles from advisor to her current directorial position as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO). Her extensive background includes serving as Director of International Student Services at St. Mary's University in San Antonio (2001-2009).
Margaret holds a BA in International Relations from St. Mary's University, an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from UT Austin, and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. Her commitment to global education is informed by international experiences across South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, Guatemala, and Mexico. She actively contributes to the broader international education community through presentations at professional conferences and her ongoing work to enhance support services for UT Austin's international population.
