Katelyn joined Texas Global in 2025 as a Program Coordinator for Faculty-Led Programs within Education Abroad. She brings extensive experience in higher education, public policy, and cross-cultural engagement, and is deeply committed to creating accessible, inclusive international experiences that empower students to make a difference beyond borders.
Originally from Michigan, Katelyn holds a B.A. in International Studies and Latin American & Caribbean Studies, as well as a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan. Her passion for global education began with The Young Americans, where she performed and led arts workshops for children across 16 countries. Katelyn also has studied abroad through several programs across Brazil, focusing on social justice and language, later returning to live, teach English, and support local community initiatives.
Prior to joining UT Austin, Katelyn worked at the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs. There, she oversaw projects aim at combating child labor and human trafficking throughout Latin America. This work deepened her dedication to human rights and advocacy for underserved communities.
Katelyn speaks Portuguese and Spanish and loves using both to connect across cultures. Outside of work, you'll find her dancing salsa, planning her next solo trip, singing at concerts or catching the latest Formula 1 race.
