Jo Kai Yin Wu

International Student Advisor

Jo is originally from Hong Kong and was a former international student in United States for seven years. She has a Master’s in Counseling and Counselor Education from Indiana University- Bloomington, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Baylor University. After receiving her master’s degree, she returned to Hong Kong and worked for tertiary institutions as a counselor for 15 years. She gained her U.S. permanent residency in 2015 and moved back to the States in 2021. Her husband, Leo, their two cats, Lemuel and MicMic, and a turtle, GuaiGuai, later flew to Austin to join her. She loves traveling around the world, scuba-diving, gardening, dogs, and pottery.

Jo first came to ISSS as an assistant student advisor in August 2022. She has been an amazing colleague and resource for our international students. We are thrilled that she is advancing in her career here at Texas Global.
