Prior to joining Texas Global, Holly spent 15 years in faculty positions teaching Spanish language and culture at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also served as Director of the Language Learning Center. During her time as faculty, Holly developed an extensive portfolio of global learning experiences for her students, including study abroad programs, virtual exchange sessions, online lecture series, and international conversation partners. Holly also served as Delegate to the Consortium of Jesuit Universities’ Virtual Dual Immersion Program, through which she collaborated with universities across Latin America and Europe, enabling hundreds of students learning Spanish at Loyola to interface directly with students studying English at universities in Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Spain. Her work in this endeavor led to curriculum-wide integration of virtual exchange sessions, affording this global learning experience to all students enrolled Core Spanish Language courses.

In addition to her work in virtual global learning, Holly has designed and led study abroad programs in Granada, Spain and founded a non-profit organization aimed at making immersion experiences more accessible to individuals regardless of proficiency level or student status. She believes deeply in the power of global education experiences to foster compassion, generate innovation, and build bridges of understanding between people of different nations and cultures.

During her time as an undergraduate and graduate student at the University of Delaware, Holly participated in study abroad programs in Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Spain. She holds a master’s degree in Spanish Literature and Pedagogy, as well as a BA in Spanish Studies and a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Delaware. In her free time, Holly enjoys going to concerts, making art, reading at coffee shops, and spending time in nature. Her favorite place in the world is Granada, Spain, where she spends time as often as she can.
