Eric Uphoff is an instructor at the English Language Center. He received a B.A. in music from The University of North Texas, an M.F.A. in writing from Lindenwood University focusing on folk/fairy tales and poetry, and his CELTA and TESOL certifications from The University of Texas at Austin. He began his life abroad studying Mandarin at National Taiwan Normal University and called Taiwan his home for 11 years. He has taught English to all ages and at all levels in Taiwan as well as Japan. In 2023, he returned home to Texas to be closer to his family and began teaching with the ELC. In his spare time, he enjoys music in all forms, plays board games, and actively publishes poetry in literary journals around the world.
