Emma joined the Education Abroad team at Texas Global as a Program Coordinator in July 2023. She is passionate about experiential learning, intercultural exchange, and language acquisition. She can’t wait to help UT Austin students go abroad!
Emma was born in New York City but raised in Texas, which she considers home. She earned her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. During her time there, she studied abroad twice – for a summer in Tanzania doing ethnographic field research and later for an academic year on the DIS program in Copenhagen, Denmark.
After graduation, she got her Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification and moved to Madrid, Spain where she lived for a total of five years. While there she taught English, studied Spanish, and worked in international education. Emma earned her master's degree in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. She finished her degree working as the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Middlebury School in Spain. She then worked in customized program enrollment for two years at Academic Programs International.
Emma loves to travel and has visited countries across six continents. Most recently, she’s been to Ireland, Chile, and Canada. She hopes to visit Japan, Scotland, and Namibia next. When she isn’t traveling, she enjoys art, museums, good food, time with friends and family, and learning new things.
