Emily Garcia

Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and studied abroad on the Italian Early Childhood Education faculty-led program in the summer of 2019. Emily completed her master’s degree in Higher Education at the University of Houston.

Prior to joining Texas Global, Emily worked in international education at the University of Houston as a graduate assistant and most recently served as a Global Learning Advisor in the Education Abroad Office at the University of Maryland. Emily has worked to promote the Gilman scholarship across campus and has a passion for connecting students with scholarships that allow students to pursue the programs of their dreams. Emily will be working on the Exchange/Affiliated team.

Outside of work, Emily loves spending time with her loved ones, paddleboarding at Lady Bird Lake, trying new coffee shops, and cuddling with her cats.
