Alex Briseño

Alex Briseño is the communications specialist for Texas Global, where he amplifies and promotes the global brand of The University of Texas at Austin through journalism and storytelling.

Prior to this role, he held numerous positions at The Dallas Morning News. After freelancing for one year, he covered Texas Longhorn football and basketball until the pandemic brought sports to an abrupt halt. He then accepted a year-long fellowship as a political reporter, covering the 2020 Elections and the 87th Texas Legislature.

Alex has additional writing featured in Sports Illustrated, the Austin American-Statesman and The Daily Texan. He is also a Texas Ex, earning a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the The University of Texas at Austin in 2020.
