International Student Miguel Angel Cornelio Martínez: “I am living the American dream”

Miguel Angel Cornelio Martínez was determined to get into his dream school—UT Austin. In his latest blog for Study in the USA, he describes how patience and resilience helped make his dream a reality. After completing the English Language Center’s English Language Program and applying for admission to UT multiple times, Martínez achieved his goal and is now in the middle of his first semester on the Forty Acres working towards a degree in economics.
Originally from Mexico, Martínez says he enjoys online instruction and exploring Austin, and feels he is living the American Dream.
“Even though I did not start college as I was expecting...I am much more excited for the great things that are yet to come,” he describes. “If you are a student [in] the position I was one year ago, let me tell you that you are going to accomplish whatever you propose yourself. As long as you give your hundred percent and stay resilient.”
