English Language Center Alumna Honored with Community Engagement Award

English Language Center alumna Maribel Bello is the recipient of the annual LLILAS Benson Community Engagement awards, which highlight exceptional students making an impact through service in their communities and Latin America.
After completing an intensive English program through Texas Global, Bello was accepted into the LLILAS master’s program. Working in tandem with migrant communities and the performing arts, she seeks to share the stories of these groups and help those experiencing post-migratory trauma. Her research and service span several organizations from Austin to her hometown of Mexico City. She hopes to use her knowledge and skills to continue strengthening migrant communities through the performing arts.
