Award-winning Mexican journalist Carmen Aristegui will present the 2024 Harte Lecture, "Journalism and the Threat to Democracy."

Journalist and anchorwoman Carmen Aristegui is one of Mexico's most prominent TV reporters. She is the recipient of the 2023 World Press Freedom Hero award, honoring her decades of fearless reporting on corruption in Mexico regardless of the government in power, and her unyielding commitment to critical journalism in the face of targeted efforts to silence her.
