Come learn about an exciting new Summer II program: Hands-on-Science II in Cyprus! At this information session, you will learn more about the application process and meet the faculty member, Antonia Chimonidou, who will be leading this immersive experience!

During this program, students will learn chemistry and geology while being immersed in the Mediterranean culture. The island of Cyprus played a pivotal role in the development of plate tectonic theory, a central topic of the UTS 306K curriculum. Along with active learning at the University of Cyprus, students will participate in various field trips to study the unique geology of the internationally known Troodos Ophiolite, which will provide an ideal setting for putting the forces of plate tectonics in a truly "hands-on" context. In their free time, students will experience the Mediterranean lifestyle and truly appreciate the strong community feeling and the pride that people take in extending hospitality, while enjoying the slower pace and relaxed attitude of the locals. With its rich natural beauty, great food, diverse geographical features, multicultural heritage, and some of the best beaches in the world, Cyprus is sure to provide students with an international learning experience like no other.

This course is open to all students across campus to create an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment inclusive of all backgrounds and degrees of study.
