The LLILAS Indigenous Languages Initiative welcomes guest speaker Manuela (Nela) Tahay, one of the most experienced instructors of K’iche’ as a second language (L2) today.

Born and raised in Nahualá, Guatemala, she has taught Guatemalan and U.S. students for more than 10 years, both in Guatemala and at multiple U.S. universities. Nela Tahay has also contributed to the development of teaching materials for K'iche' learners. Trained as an accountant, she also has ample experience as a community organizer.
