Language Matters! How to Make Literature Speak the Same Language as Our Students
Join us as Fulbright Visiting Scholar Kirill Veselkin discusses "Through the Thorns of Translation and Interpretation: How to Make Literature Speak the Same Language as Our Students"
Attention Economics greatly affects education, particularly the humanities sphere of teaching literature, where reading and interaction with texts are the primary means of study. One-way communication of knowledge transfer within the framework of lectures is becoming obsolete, which affects the choice of this discipline among students. The search for a new language and a space of interaction with language and literature today is a key task of modernizing the teaching process. As part of the conversation, various methods of building horizontal communication, increasing the involvement and relevance of the subject in teaching literature will be proposed. The topic of challenges arising when working with translated texts and interpretations of a work of art will also be touched upon.
