Global Career Launch England: Upcycled Product Design

This is an information session for an internship takes place on the coast of England to provide students with the opportunity to work with a new model for manufacturing products with the sustainable brand, MyRefactory.

MyRefactory creates circular solutions for waste – taking hard to recycle materials by turning them into new, valuable products. These waste materials may be in the form of plastics, metals, textiles and other hard to recycle materials challenging students to use their creativity to explore end-product options.

Students will explore creating and designing new fashion and beauty products using 3d technology and hands-on product development methods under the direction of the Circular Design and Manufacturing Specialist. Participants will be mentored by experts of the company in mechanical engineering, design, and textile development to create valuable upcycled products in the form of fashion, furniture and other commercial and/or bespoke items that are inspired by the design thinking method. The end of the internship will conclude with a display of student work at a public commercial space.
