Fantastically French! Design and Architecture in 16th- to 18th-Century Prints
The Blanton Museum of Art draws on its extensive collection of French prints to present the exhibition Fantastically French! Design and Architecture in 16th- to 18th-Century Prints.
Depicting figures ranging from sphinxes to snails and arabesques to grotesques, French printmakers of the period created fanciful designs that decorated jewelry, home furnishings and architectural façades, most notably for the Fontainebleau royal hunting lodge and the palace gardens at Versailles.
Fantastically French! is on view March 5-Aug. 14. Find more information at the Blanton Museum of Art website.
