Learn More About the Event

UT Austin will organize a forward looking conference that positions India as a nation at a historic inflection point—a 1.4 billion person democracy and one of the world’s fastest growing economies—examining how its choices in energy, education, technology, and governance will shape the country’s next century.

The event brings together experts to explore India’s macroeconomic transformation since 1991, its sustainability and climate challenges, its expanding digital and AI leadership, its evolving geopolitical partnerships including the Indo US Texas corridor, and the complexities of governing a diverse, multilingual democracy. The goal is to anticipate the decisions that will define how Indians live, work, and engage with the world by 2047 and beyond, offering early insight into the forces shaping India’s future.

UT's first-ever conference on India's economic and political future.

Whatever you can rightly say about India, the opposite is also true. Joan Robinson captured India's paradox decades ago—and it's never been more relevant than right now.

1.4 billion people. The world's largest democracy. An economy at an inflection point. Infrastructure ambitions that defy gravity. Governance at a scale humanity has never attempted.

India at 100 will be shaped by decisions made in the next decades.

This conferece will bring together economists, political scientists, policy experts and cultural icons who are shaping those decisions.
