Fall 2024

Learn more about an alum in leadership at LEGO, the benefits of language learning over a lifetime, research initiatives tackling public health crises, and other ways UT Austin is leaving its mark on the global stage. Closer to home, Texas Global is proud to partner with colleges, schools and organizations across the Forty Acres to celebrate International Education Week, featuring more than 60 campus events that highlight global studies, programs and cultures. Summer 2024

This summer, UT Austin sent 3,000 students abroad to 83 countries for life-changing education abroad experiences. As we head into the new semester, we're pleased to welcome nearly 2,000 incoming international students and to launch the new Take the World by the Horns program for first-year students in Copenhagen, Panama City, and Seoul. Other highlights include Fulbright awards, Olympic feats by Longhorns, collaborative research endeavors, and advancements in global entrepreneurship.

Spring 2024

Honoring Commencement, we celebrate international graduates with several stories from UT Austin's Class of 2024, highlighting their achievements and global engagement. Recent University accolades include Fulbright student awards and top graduate school rankings. Stories feature researchers predicting earthquakes with AI in China and student work preserving an endangered language in Peru. Events and alumni successes round out the vibrant global activities at UT Austin.

UT Austin made history as the first U.S. university to co-host FILUNI 2023 in Mexico City, featuring over 42,000 participants, 317 publishers, and more than 50 collaborative conference sessions. Texas Global congratulates all graduating Longhorns and reflects on the growth and success of international programs post-pandemic. Summer 2022

Texas Global is enriching the Forty Acres by celebrating the rebound of students study abroad to pre-pandemic levels, welcoming 180 fellows, faculty, and entrepreneurs through the Global Programs and Innovation unit, and providing nearly $600,000 in grants to support faculty and academic units in their global engagement endeavors.

Texas Global expands UT Austin's global reach with Mexico Global Gateway and successful international events, including the Redefining Health Care Summit in Barcelona. A series of noteworthy accomplishments top the headlines on this newsletter. UT Austin received the Senator Paul Simon Award and was recognized as a top producer of scholarship recipients by the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program. In addition, Texas Global grants have been instrumental in advancing the university's global engagement efforts.

Fall 2021

UT Austin is boosting its global engagement efforts with the launch of the Texas Global Alumni Relations unit and the Campus Internationalization Event Fund, which will support global engagement events on campus. Additionally, funding from federal and state entities and the Scholar Rescue Fund Alliance will facilitate leadership development, entrepreneurship, and capacity-building opportunities.
