On-Campus Resources for our Global Longhorns

April 3, 2024

International longhorns come to UT Austin from all over the world to contribute to and benefit from the university’s rigorous academic environment and rich cultural atmosphere of the city and state.

At Texas Global, we understand the dedication and, sometimes, the personal sacrifices required to attain this goal. We also know that being away from your country and support network can be difficult, especially when events take place back home—be they personal, environmental, or political.

We would like to emphasize the on-campus resources available to anyone who may be seeking support.

  • Emergency financial aid for enrolled international students and scholars may be available should you find yourself in an unexpected financial situation due to an ongoing crisis. Email us at intlfinaid@austin.utexas.edu to request further details about emergency aid and eligibility requirements.
  • Student Emergency Services (SES) in the Office of the Dean of Students provides assistance to students navigating challenging or unexpected issues that impact their well-being and academic success. You can reach SES at 512-471-5017 or by email at studentemergency@austin.utexas.edu.
  • Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) has a confidential crisis line with professional counselors who will spend time addressing your immediate concerns. The crisis line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, at 512-471-2255. To schedule a regular appointment, call 512-471-3515.
  • CMHC offers drop-in support groups on a variety of topics. Groups offer a community of peers to address shared challenges and interests. New groups are started each semester. Find a list of sessions and meeting times on the CMHC website.
  • The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential counseling services for UT Select benefits-eligible employees. You can schedule an appointment by email at eap@austin.utexas.edu or call 512-471-3366. A crisis line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at 512-471-3399.

Our team is here for you. Please reach out to us for any support you may need.
