How can you design a class that takes place partially online and between students from different institutions around the world?

This will be a hybrid event! For face-to-face attendees, light refreshments will be provided. For online attendees, there is a Zoom link available after reservation.

Texas Global and the Center for Teaching and Learning are thrilled to co-host a session on globally engaged learning and how you can use virtual exchange to provide an on-campus international experience for your students. Virtual exchange courses blend courses at UT with courses at universities abroad to facilitate collaboration and online cultural exchanges. UT Austin instructors and special guests will share their best practices for thinking creatively about globally engaged learning utilizing the virtual exchange model.

For a few examples of the Global Virtual Exchange (GVE) model, please take a look at the stories of Orlando Kelm (Spanish and Portuguese), who connected with colleagues in Brazil, and John Rumrich (English), who co-taught a course on Shakespeare with a colleague in China.
