Julie graduated from Texas Christian University with a BA in Sociology. During college,she studied abroad and interned at a homeless shelter in London, England and visited several European countries. After graduation, she became certified to Teach English as Foreign Language in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Since then, she has taught English inThailand, volunteered on a farm in Costa Rica, backpacked through much of CentralAmerica, worked in Denali National Park in Alaska, and served as a United States PeaceCorps Volunteer in Nicaragua from 2010-2012. During her Peace Corps service, she co-authored and was awarded a small grant from USAID to build a classroom out of recycled materials. She earned her Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. She joined the customized program team in2015 and is thrilled to have a job that helps others fulfill their dreams while exploring and learning about other parts of the world. In her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, and family and friends, being outdoors, traveling,and seeing live music and eating tacos.
