Sandra J. Shaw has been communicating across cultures since the age of 7, when she went to live in Libya for three years with her family. After first being introduced to language learning through Arabic, she took up Spanish and later Brazilian Portuguese. Her undergraduate work in cultural anthropology was completed at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her M.A. in Latin American studies was awarded by The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Shaw has taught ESL for over 20 years in the US and abroad; her most recent international experience was in Baku, Azerbaijan. She has also worked in ESL and academic publishing as a writer, editor, ESL specialist, and sales representative. She is committed to helping students and teachers from all over the world achieve their educational and personal goals.
