Jean Ooi
Interim Assistant Director, Faculty-Led Programs

Jean is a proud alumna of UT Austin, earning a BBA in management information systems. She began her career as an IT consultant with PwC in San Francisco, however after realizing her true passion was working with students in a helping profession, she made a career switch and obtained an M.S. in school counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
Prior to joining Texas Global, she worked at ISA, managing customized faculty-led programs for universities across the U.S. Jean also has experience working in K-12 schools and community-based organizations, providing academic, career, and personal counseling to both domestic and international students.
Jean's exposure to international education began at a young age when her family relocated to Singapore for four years, and she later studied abroad for a semester in Copenhagen. To this day, she remains incredibly passionate about all things international (especially food!), and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She is a firm believer that all students should experience living abroad to gain valuable life skills outside the classroom, and is eager to help Longhorns become global leaders.
